As healthcare in the 21st century charts new frontiers led by breathtaking advancements in technology, there is a danger health systems could lose their focus on patients and families and be blinded to their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Dr. Verna Yiu will discuss how Alberta Health Services (AHS) is utilizing storytelling to help those working in healthcare recognize the power of relationships and understand how those one-on-one connections are crucial to achieving outstanding patient outcomes and experiences. Dr. Yiu’s presentation will include examples of AHS multimedia storytelling.
